At the junction of Marsyangdi and Suli Khola rivers, Dharapani stands as a tiny tranquil village revealing breathtaking mountain landscapes. Reaching higher, Thinner air conditions are expected so we ought to take regular breathing stops to prevent tiredness.
This is a seemingly challenging trail presenting moderate challenges due to the elevated altitude. The view of Annapurna and Gangapurna become more breathtaking when reaching Yak Kharka, a peaceful area.
Once at Yak Kharka, we will find our lodge and relax, adjusting to high-altitude conditions and eating simple nourishing food at our teahouse.

From this corridor you can observe panoramic views of the mountainous terrain and valley while strolling beneath the upper Marsyangdi River water.
Severe dryness dominates this part of the environment which reveals glimpses of the untamed mountains above. You can spot yak herders along with their animals who graze on the minimal grass here while we ascend the mountain slope.
Thorong Phedi is our last stop before starting the challenging climb to Thorong La.This is an important stop for resting and preparing for the ahead trek.

FAQs
The Annapurna Circuit Trek achieves its peak condition during spring pre-monsoon and autumn post-monsoon times when trail conditions and weather become the most perfect. T
The spring season between March to May delivers ideal trek conditions due to its pleasant daytime temperature range from 10°C to 20°C which can drop below 0°C during nighttime though. Terrain presents a vibrant appearance with blooming rhododendron plants providing stunning vistas.
Autumn too ranks as the preferred season for trekking the Annapurna Circuit as daylight temperatures perfectly fluctuate between 10°C and 15°C, but can fall to Zero or Less at night.
Both these periods are excellent trekking seasons as they deliver pleasant weather conditions maintaining sparkling mountaintop visibility, and smooth pathways.
During the period of December to February which marks Winter in Nepal the high elevation areas become particularly dangerous as of the freezing cold weather and snowfall. The season transforms upper reaches into dangerous icy surfaces.
Ensembled travelers should delay their Himalayan treks until summer ends because the monsoon seems to bring damaging effects of torrential rain to the trekking paths producing dangerous conditions of mudslides with limited visibility. Winter conditions render the trails almost impossible to access while trekking becomes dangerous and physically unfavorable.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is labelled moderate in difficulty as its Length, rugged trails and Altitude requires a decent fitness level. The track stretches 160 to 230 kilometers in length providing a journey duration of 15 to 20 days.
The main difficulty of the Annapurna Circuit Trek emerges from its elevated geography and steep topography, especially at Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters), where thin air and severe conditions prevail.
The trek itself demands 5-7 hrs walk per day, which may sound very easy, but the path makes it not be so. The trek passes through various terrains starting with well-marked trails through villages and forests which turn into rocky in no time, the difficult tracks while moving towards higher elevation regions makes it a bit harder for walkers.
The preparation before trekking involves cardiovascular fitness and building up both lower body strength as well as endurance.
Elevated walking on mountain trails or stairs strengthens endurance capabilities. Step-ups combined with lunges and squats create the most effective training routine for dealing with mountain terrain.
Training with backpack weight will help establish trekking performance readiness. Novices newbies may find this a bit harder than moderate, so it’s best to not choose this for your very first trek if you are completely new to trekking.
The Annapurna Circuit poses a major risk of altitude sickness as the elevation rises swiftly throughout the trail. Past the 3,000-meter territory the risk becomes higher and trekkers should track symptoms like headaches and nausea as well as dizziness and shortness of breath.
The main approach to combat this condition is to take altitude-dependent elevation climbs at a steady pace, while maintaining adequate water intake and steering clear of drinking excessively or consuming large amounts of caffeine.
Trekkers need to focus on the important process of acclimatization through strategic resting at careful positions below higher elevation to help their bodies adapt to thin air. (Climb High, Sleep Low Rule).

The ACAP permit exists to secure funds that conserve both nature and wildlife along with the unique traditional communities living in that area. This permit funding supports ecological preservation of trails alongside financial support for the local development needs. The permits create sustainable tourism conditions in the region by protecting both environmental elements along with traditional cultural practices.Radiant Treks and Tours offers the benefits of both permits in their package inclusion, so trekkers do not really hold the responsibility of getting them.
Quarters along the Annapurna Circuit Trek are mainly offered by tea houses and lodges which provide basic resting spaces for meals and warmth.
The lower altitude tea houses provide ample space with beds and blankets, with shared bathrooms. The lodgings at higher elevations become progressively simple. The accommodations become smaller in size, and standards such as running water and indoor plumbing operate less frequently.
While lower elevations have heating facilities, Higher altitude camps do not have that privilege. Each night’s teahouse accommodation costs between NPR 300-500 in low-altitude regions, and the prices gradually rise with increased height as the area becomes more elevated and remote.
The teahouses present food choices which help travelers maintain their energy levels during the entire day for the trek. The food menu in low-altitude areas includes a range of Nepali cuisine featuring lentil soup with rice, dumplings, noodle soup, and fried rice.
The food menu features both traditional and Western food options like pasta and pancakes and toast. Gradually the options narrows at higher altitude due to logistics constraints. Dal bhat will then soon become your best friend. Alongside noodles, and warm soup.
Eating costs between NPR 300-500 when you stay in the lower parts of Nepal whereas the prices increase toward NPR 500-800 while ascending to higher altitudes. Vegan and Vegetarian options are also available, as well as special diets, you just have to inform the agency prior hand so the tea houses will be notified in advance about it.
How much money should I carry for the trek?
Tourists should have sufficient cash funds for meals and beverages since ATM’s do not operate within the trek zone. To explore the trek for 10 to 14 days one should have a budget of NPR about 15-20k, depending on your spending habits.
What cultural practices should I be aware of?
Before visiting homes or religious sites it is essential to follow the local tradition of taking off your shoes. Wear appropriate clothing which covers your body when visiting temples and monasteries. Public expressions of affection must be avoided and demonstrate respect towards elderly individuals as well as religions such as prayer flags and stupas.
What is the internet facility like along the trail?
Internet connectivity is available throughout Besisahar and Chame villages. In Manang the wireless internet system exists in particular tea houses yet signal strength remains inconsistent. At Thorong La Pass and Muktinath, you will encounter complete internet service blackouts since no internet is available at this altitude. Keep in mind, the internet may cost a bit of a price.
What is the network capacity like along the Trek?
NTC and NCELL users can access networks all the way to Manang as well as in several mountainous villages such as Yak Kharka. Network coverage becomes nearly unavailable above when passing through Thorong La Pass or Muktinath. So make sure to have a satellite phone on you. Your guide will have access to it, so reach out to them in case of emergencies.
Are there any ATMs along the way?
Only till Pokhara and Besisahar ATMs are available, the higher you go, the more scarcity will be faced so make sure to carry enough cash for the entire Trek.
