Arun Valley Trek with Everest Base Camp

18 Days

Overview

The Arun Valley Trek with Everest Base Camp is a unique journey that makes you take a step back into history. Long before the airport at Lukla existed, this was the only way to reach Everest. It is the same path taken by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary during the 1953 expedition, yet it remains surprisingly quiet today. And this is one of the exciting trek packages that the Radiant Treks offers in the recent days.
Most trekkers nowadays fly straight into the mountains for a quick 12 days Everest Base Camp Trek or the standard 15-day trek to Everest. While those routes are beautiful, they skip the incredible diversity of the lower hills.
This particular journey journey starts differently. Landing in the tropical warmth of Tumlingtar, you trek through deep forests and terraced farmland in the Makalu region. It is a place where you are more likely to see a Red Panda or a rare bird than another tourist.
The trail eventually merges with the main Everest route at Puiyan. From there, you join the energy of the Khumbu, heading up to Namche and eventually to the foot of the world’s highest peak. This route gives you the best of both worlds: the solitude of the Arun Valley and the high-altitude glory of Everest.
